Relief & Development InitiativesWhen the early church in Jerusalem was afflicted by famine, the apostle Paul urged the other churches under his influence to participate in a collection for their relief. He praised the Macedonian churches who gave joyfully and generously, even in the midst of their own poverty, “begging earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints” (2 Corinthians 8:4). Challenged by the example of the Macedonian Christians and motivated by the grace of the same Lord, we also earnestly desire the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints. Covenant Mercies is eager to harness the abundant resources that God has provided to serve our brothers and sisters abroad, and to come alongside churches in areas plagued by famine, natural disasters, and various “third world conditions” as they seek to embody the love and mercy of Christ in their communities.
